The Active Paintings concept is a new art proposal. Combined with light mixing technology and painted in a way so that the colours cooperate smoothly with the light, they yield an amazing visual joy for the viewer. These abstract paintings stir the viewer’s emotion creating an almost meditative experience. An active painting is not really a single painting, it is rather several different paintings in one!

Change is the only constant within the whole Universe
An active painting progressively changes right in front of the viewer's eyes. Parts of the painting pop-up while others disappear. This creates a sense of motion and a plethora of emotions. We invite you to let yourself get immersed in - and surrounded by - the paintings.

Multidimensional "light–moving" paintings
Manolis Stratakis is a painter creating multidimensional works, in the same fashion as life is doing around us. In his paintings, not everything is visible at first glance.
The innovation of varying multicolor light he introduces, reveals details we could not perceive earlier. The light is “digging” into the canvas, bringing out colors and forms we could not even have suspected they existed before.
The painter suggests we see our everyday life in a similar way. Use our thinking to penetrate under the surface, in a similar way the light is infiltrating the canvas. Pause time for a while and become aware of what exists under the surface. Observe the hidden wealth, patiently waiting to be discovered.
During the past decade, Manolis has been working on a series of "light–moving" paintings, inviting viewers to project their own reality on them, aiming at a dynamic, ever changing, evolutionary awareness of the world around us.
